Bonnie & Clyde Historical Collectible (#1/150)

This collection of “Bonnie & Clyde” gangster items includes an actual 1934 Frankfort Arsenal 30-06 bullet and shell casing fired from one of Clyde Barrow’s 1918 Browning Automatic Rifles (BAR) used in the course of his bank robberies in the early 1930’s.  This particular BAR was customized by Barrow by shortening the barrel and stock to make it more concealable and was known as his “Scattergun”.

The gun was seized by Missouri State Highway Patrol officers after a shootout with police at Bonnie and Clyde’s hideout in Joplin, Missouri, in April 1933.  Bonnie and Clyde continued on the run until they were killed in a police ambush on May 23, 1934.  This BAR is currently on display in Jefferson City, Missouri, at the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Safety Education Center.

Also included is a photo of Clyde Barrow with two of his favorite BAR’s and a copy of an FBI Wanted Poster for Interstate Transportation of a Stolen Automobile, the only federal crime that they were wanted for.

The display also includes a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the Superintendent of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a modern Highway Patrol shoulder patch, and an NRA Foundation Medallion.

Since this is one of the first ten prints in the series, it also includes an “Old Style” MSHP shoulder patch and MSHP Challenge Coin.

This collection is framed to archival standards and encased in UV filtering glass by Framing & Floral Gallery in Evansville, Indiana.

Only 150 Bonnie & Clyde Bullet Prints are being assembled for this set and the winner/purchaser of each print will have their name entered in a drawing to be held in December 2009, and the winner of the drawing will receive a semi-automatic version of the Browning Automatic rifle donated by Ohio Ordnance Works, Inc.

This fundraiser for the NRA Foundation is underwritten by Ohio Ordnance Works, Inc., manufacturers of functioning semi-automatic replicas of Browning Automatic Rifles.
